To start off, I would like to say that the CareerLabs Admissions Consulting Services was of great help to me. Moreover the team helps a candidate to understand themselves very clearly. The team has provided support in suggesting the schools that were based on my profile and that helped me to choose the right schools to Apply. My greatest takeaway from your service was the CV editing and that was my favorite part of the Application process.

The CareerLabs Team helped me understand the expectation of the B-schools very clearly. The Essay discussions were very helpful and efficient. That helped me draft the essays very effectively which in turn helped me secure an Admit. Also in addition to the reviews I would like to highlight the guidance I received from the team on how to do my research on B-schools which helped me identify the schools more clearly.

The services were personalised to suit my needs. I was really attracted towards the cost they charged for the consulting process which initially attracted me towards CareerLabs. I really honour their methodology of guiding the students rather than writing the documents for them. Because this methodology ensured that I was able to understand the requirements of B-schools in all possible aspects and I like the never Give up attitude of the team since they were able to help me with the applications in a short span of time. I joined late and the school I had confirmed to Apply with them had a minimum span of time left. Still the team managed to keep it flawless and a pressure free process.

    Frequently Asked Question

What do you really want to know about Profile Builder
    1. Which one is a better option for my English proficiency test- TOEFL or the IELTS?
Neither is better than the other. Go for the one you are comfortable with! take note that TOEFL is more widely accepted in the U.S and IELTS in the European Region and Australia.
    2. If I have to go for Fall 2022/ Fall 23, what is the last date before which I have to finish my GMAT and IELTS/ TOEFL?
There is no last date for completing the GMAT and IELTS/ TOEFL. It is recommended however, that you complete the tests at least 30-45 days before your first application deadline.
    3. Is it compulsory to take an English proficiency test?
Typically, most B-Schools need proof of English proficiency and accept tests like TOEFL, IELTS, etc. Unless the B-School offers you a waiver, you are required to take this. Write to the programs to check if you are eligible for a waiver.
    4. I'm supposed to give the list of 5 B-Schools on the test day of GMAT but I'm not yet in the school shortlisting phase. What am I supposed to do?
You can go through the Initial B-School List which we have shared with you and conduct your school research. Pick out four schools which you like. You can also consider other B-Schools that spike your interest.
    5. What Are The Chances Of Getting Into The Top Schools With A Low GMAT Score?
The Admissions Committee of any school will look at different aspects of your application for you to get an admit to the school. Your profile, the value you will bring to the school, and how the school can help you achieve your short term goals will also contribute to deciding whether you get admitted or not. How your essay portrays these factors with facts is also extremely important.
    6. Does CareerLabs Offer TOEFL Classes?
No, CareerLabs only offers IELTS classes.
    1. When  do  most application deadlines happen?
Most B-Schools open applications by July and the Round 1 deadlines come by September. Application for the next round extends till Feb/ March of the next year.
    2. If I apply to a school now and get selected, can I refuse to pay the fee later?
You will have an option of confirming your admit for each school after you receive the admit. You can accept/reject the admits.
    3. When Should I Begin The Application Process For My Studies?
You should begin the process at least 9-12 months before the intake year you are planning to apply to. For example, if you are applying to the 2022 intake, it is advisable that you start the process for your profile building between Jan – March 2021 for you to be able to get ample time to work on different factors like CV, Profile building, GMATprep, school selection, and finally the application.
    4. If For Some Reason I Have Missed My Deadline To Submit The Documents To The University, Will CareerLabs Help Me For The Next Intake?
As we would have completed your documentation from our end for that particular intake, we will consider the process as completed. You will have to apply to CareerLabs as a new candidate for the next intake.
    5. What Should I Do If The Institution Rejects My Application For A Particular Program?
If an institution rejects your application, you can re-attempt to apply for a suitable program matching your profile in the same institution itself with more supporting documents, or choose an alternative option in other institutions where your profile would be eligible. We would also suggest you write to the school asking for a reason or explanation for the rejection.
    6. What Should I Do If My College Application Opens After My Product Validity Date?
Most of the college applications will start during the validity of your service as you have signed up for a particular cycle of intake. We would help the client with the application to those B-Schools that have been shortlisted with us before the service expires. However, on a case to case basis the same can be discussed with the Admission Consulting team.
    1. When do I start to draft my essays? What should be included?
You can start drafting your essays once you have sufficiently built your profile as the application time approaches. Talk about what your motivation for pursuing a Graduate program is, what got your interested in it, how you have prepared for the program and what your goals are.
    2. What Is The Timeframe To Complete The Entire Process?
It would depend on the intake cycle the client wishes to apply in, along with the package chosen with the Admission Consulting Services. For example, if a client wishes to apply to the 2022 Fall Intake, ideally the application process should be completed by January 2021 for a 1/3/5 school Package and September 2018 for a Profile Booster Package. This scenario will also depend on the school chosen and the rounds applied to.
    3. What Happens After 24 Hours Of The On-Boarding Call? Am I Eligible To Any Refund At All If I Change My Mind?
After 24 hours of the on- boarding call, you are eligible for partial or no refund based on the services provided to you. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for the detailed policy on refund.
    4. Will The Same Consultant Be Assigned To Me For Monthly Calls?
While we make an effort to provide the same consultant assigned to you every month, however, this may sometimes not be possible. All of our consultants are extremely well-qualified to handle all kinds of cases, and will ensure that you have a seamless experience on our platform. Also, at every stage, depending on the level of expertise required, your consultant may be different
    5. Can I Change My Preferred Regions/Schools After The Filled Profile Assessment Form (PAF) Is Sent Back?
Of course! During the time of the Profile Assessment Form (PAF), you would’ve just started the application process with us. It is unlikely you would be aware of what schools will be a good fit for you. That’s where we come in. Even though we will guide you on your way, the final choice of which schools you end up applying to, rests with you.
    6. If I’m Not Able To Attend The Profile Mentoring Call (PMC) On The Scheduled Day, Can It Be Re-Scheduled?
If you are not available to take the call you will have to intimate us via email. In the email, you’ll have to mention the status of your plan of action and the new activities you have done in the last 30 days in order for us to build your profile gap. You can also mention any queries that you may have in the email. Your consultant will go through the same and get back to you via email or call.
    7. If I Have Availed A Few Services From The Admissions Consulting Services (ACS), Say Till The Profile Gap Analysis (PGA), And If Then I Defer My Service To The Next Season, Will It Resume From Where It Stopped?
Yes, the service will resume from where it stopped earlier.
    8. Who Will Be My Mentor For Each Stage?
You will have a Single Point of Contact (SPoC), who will be guiding you throughout the process. However, at each stage you will be talking to the respective experts of that stage. For e.g., your CV Discussion call will be done by one of our CV experts, whereas the Profile Gap Analysis will be taken care by your consultant, post which you will be assigned a mentor who will be guiding and mentoring you for your profile building, B-School discussions, application, etc.
    9. Can I Extend The Services?
The services can be extended in case there is a delay, or the client feels that s/he needs more time to complete the application process. In such cases, an additional service fee would be applicable for the shift of service.
    1. Can I use a different format for my CV?
Yes, you can. But for CV review from our editors, you’ve to follow the Careerlabs format. Once it is finalized, you can convert to any format to your preference.
    2. Do we have to share certificates of completed courses or is it enough to mention them in CV? Can I mention the courses in progress as well?
It is sufficient to mention courses you have taken in the CV, but you should be able to provide the certificates if you are asked for them. For courses in progress, mention the course name and indicate "ongoing" in brackets.
    3. If I've learnt a language in school but do not have the certification, how should I put it in my CV, or should I not mention it at all?
You can mention it in your CV with the level of proficiency instead of the certification level. For example, French (basic).
    4. How do we start writing our SoPs? Is there a structure to follow?
Yes. Once your pre-ss worksheet is ready (make it for the first school), you can open the application and look at the essay prompt. Use the details in the Pre-SS worksheet to create the first draft. We will help you refine it from then on.
    5. My recommenders want me to write the LoR and share with them. What should I do?
It is advised that the LoR should be written by the recommenders. You can share the ‘LoR request template’ that CareerLabs provides with the recommenders as it will make things easier for them. We can also guide the recommenders over call if needed.
    6. How do I start with the Letters of Recommendation? How many do I need?
You can consider approaching your possible recommenders at this point. Do ask if they are able to provide you the recommendations and how they wish to provide it.
Most B-School applications ask for three recommenders. It is however, a good idea to have back up recommenders. We suggest approaching 2-3 Professional recommenders and 1-2 academic recommenders (if required).
    7. Is there a specific way of writing to professors and potential recommenders?
Mention your interests in the email, briefly introduce yourself, and introduce the purpose of the email.
    8. By when should we keep LoR and SoP ready?
You should aim to have the LoR and SoP ready about 15 days prior to the application deadline.
    1. What Is The Difference Between Fall And Spring Intake?
Fall intake is the intake where-in deadlines begin in the month of September and remain open till January, whereas the spring intake deadlines are between February to April or May. There are very limited options for an MBA program in the Spring intake
    2. Do I Need To Know The Field In Which I Want To Do Master’s?
Yes! Do your research. Without an area of specialization to begin with, it is extremely difficult to guide you with multiple aspects of your application. You would need to do some research to come up with which area of specialization and which program you’d like to do your higher studies in. This will enable us to provide focused guidance and support to you in order to make your application stand out.
    3. Is The Location Of Completing My Master’s Important?
Yes- in terms of expenses; what sort of careers you can have, and so on. It will also impact what schools we will suggest to you.
    4. What Is The Placement Scenario For International Students?
Every university has a different placement scenario for their International Students. We would suggest you to go through the information provided by individual universities to get to know about the placement scenarios of their international students.
    5. How do I know my GPA on a scale of 4.0 if my credits are in CPGA/ Percentage?
You may opt for the WES evaluation if you are required to check on the GPA comparison. Do note that every University usually has their own grading system for the GPA. You can consider checking with your school administration if it is not mentioned in the transcripts.
6.Is A Certificate Of Social Service Activity Same As That Of Internships?
Definitely not. Social service activities show how active you are and depict your leadership, team building and proactiveness while internships help you to gain industrial exposure. They’re both extremely important for one to have a holistic profile.
    7. What Happens If I Fail To Attend A Webinar Session?
We highly recommend everyone to try their best to attend the webinars as it allows one to ask any query and get clarifications by the experts themselves. However, if due to some reason one is unable to attend the webinar, a recorded version of the same will be sent to them.
    1. Does This Plan Also Provide Internships?
