Before we begin to draft a plan, you need to understand that since you have only 60 days to prepare, you can not afford to waste time and have to religiously stick to the schedule. If you manage your time well, you will have an ample amount of time to revise before the exam. So without further ado, let’s see how to prepare for the GMAT in 60 days.

First Fifteen Days: Week 1 and 2

The first fifteen days or two weeks of your GMAT preparation serves as a foundation for your study plan. It revolves around you assessing your strengths and weaknesses. Before you start preparing, we would recommend taking a free mock test. This is because it will highlight your strengths and weaknesses. In addition, it will help you set a target score. Setting a goal or a target score also helps in drafting a productive study plan. 

The first two weeks are also a good time to familiarise yourself with GMAT sections and the exam pattern. You must understand how the exam works before you begin preparing for it. Again, taking the mock test will help you understand the exam pattern and the types of questions asked in each of the GMAT sections. 

Thirty Days: Week 3 and 4  

To attempt any GMAT question, you should be thorough with the fundamental concepts, so, start by learning and practising all concepts regularly and consistently. Once you are familiar with the fundamental concepts, you can proceed to practise sample questions from each section of the GMAT. While practising questions, make a note of the areas you struggle with so that you can come back to those questions later.  

Also, since you have to complete each of the GMAT sections within a specific time frame, you must learn to solve each question as quickly as possible. In this period of 30 days, learn shortcuts and techniques to solve lengthy and difficult questions.

Once you feel confident enough, schedule your second mock test. Attempt the mock test with the new techniques and track the amount of time you spent on each question. 

Forty-Five Days: Week 5 and 6  

It has been more than a month since you have been preparing for the GMAT. By now, you must be able to solve questions quickly with shortcuts and techniques you’ve learnt in the past month. You will also be familiar with GMAT sections and how to approach the exam.

Now that you have a basic understanding of the GMAT, it is time to begin attempting advanced questions. This will help you tackle the computer-adaptive nature of the GMAT. 

It is important to start working on your weak areas diligently. With each mock test, track your progress. If you find yourself struggling with certain concepts and questions related to the same, you can always register with an online coaching service such as CareerLabs or connect with individuals who have already taken the exam. 

Sixty Days: Week 7 and 8 

Once your exam date is nearing, attempt your final GMAT mock test. When you take the final mock test, follow all exam protocols that you will be expected to follow on the exam day. This will familiarize you with how the actual test is conducted and will help you tackle test anxiety. 

In the last week before your exam date, make sure to revise. Since you studied the fundamental concepts a month or two ago, a revision of these concepts is a must. You can browse through your notes and use vocabulary apps, games, or flashcards to brush up your vocabulary. During this period, do not attempt another mock test because if you do not achieve your target score a week before the exam, it might throw you off track and you might feel overwhelmed, disappointed, and might leave you panicking. 

On the Day of the Exam

On the day of the exam, make sure to keep yourself hydrated and also treat yourself to a good healthy meal. Be calm and confident as you have prepared well for the exam. If you are feeling nervous, take deep breaths at regular intervals and assure yourself that it will be okay. Your hard work and efforts will not go in vain!
