Executive MBA is a postgraduate degree in Business Administration that is generally pursued by professionals with significant work experience. An Executive MBA helps you to cultivate a detailed understanding of administrative angles like critical reasoning, a global viewpoint, prepared judgment, respectability, and flexibility. You can find many top Executive MBA colleges in India, and you can apply for an EMBA at any age. However, the selection process for each college is likely to be different.

Overview of the Course

An EMBA is guaranteed to give you an edge over others. Having an EMBA degree can aid you in earning a promotion or a salary increment. EMBA programs upgrade the administrative and strategic knowledge you have acquired over the course of working for different organisations. Since it is mainly pursued by professionals, most Executive MBA colleges in India organise evening or night classes so as to accommodate all the course takers.

Admission Process

A candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in their previous college examinations to get admission to an Executive MBA program. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has introduced a “mini-GMAT” exam for EMBA aspirants. According to the GMAC’s latest directives, the Executive Assessment (EA) test (also known as the mini-GMAT exam) is a must for working professionals to secure admission to the top Executive MBA colleges in India. However, many universities and colleges conduct their own entrance exams and may not require an EA test score.

Some of the common entrance exams for admission in EMBA programs are:

  • Common Admission Test
  • XAT, which is conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur
  • Management Aptitude Test
  • Symbiosis National Aptitude Test
  • Delhi University Entrance Test

There are a variety of sections tested in each exam, such as Quantitative Ability, Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Verbal Skills, and Non-Verbal Communication.  Many companies even offer to finance the Executive MBA course for their employees, because they will receive a direct return on their investment when the employee brings her newly acquired knowledge back to the company.
