  • If your graduation scores are reported in the form of CGPAs or grades, your eligibility will be determined based on the equivalent marks given by your college/university.

Admission Procedure

The IIM admissions are generally a four-step process. As we mentioned earlier, you need to clear the GMAT or CAT exam to be eligible for admissions to IIM. This is the first step in the IIM Shillong admission process. You won’t be considered for the further stages of admission if you fail to achieve the minimum cutoff. The next step is shortlisting the candidates, which is done by considering the scores you’ve secured in the entrance examination. The admission committee also looks at your academic record and personal information in this stage. However, a good GMAT/CAT score is not sufficient to land you a spot in your dream b-school. Once you are shortlisted based on the entrance test marks, the next step is for you to take the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI). You’ll be notified only if you are shortlisted at this stage. The final selection is done based on— CAT/GMAT score, Writing Ability Test score, Personal Interview score, past academic performance, etc.

If IIM Shillong is your dream school you must make sure that you are aware of the eligibility criteria so that you don’t miss out on anything during the application process. However, dedicated preparation and good learning strategies are essential to crack the entrance exam and get into the IIM. Keep in mind that a good entrance score is not the sole criterion for the selection. You need to excel in several other aspects to stand out from the crowd and impress the admissions committee. So start your preparations and make it to the college of your choice.

Good luck!
