DAAD Scholarships

The German Academic Exchange Service, DAAD, offers assistance to over 100,000 students every year to help them with their education or research. DAAD provides numerous scholarships and grants to help students pursue programs without feeling any financial burden. One such scholarship “Master Studies for all Academic Disciplines” provides an opportunity to those who want to pursue a graduate program in Germany in any discipline or subject area. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship is as follows: 

  • You must have completed your undergraduate program. 
  • You must have a well-drafted Statement of Purpose, that specifically mentions reasons why you chose Germany as your study location.
  • You must have an  excellent academic record.
  • You must possess academic achievements and must have documents such as certificates and awards to prove it. 
  • You must have taken the IELTS or TOEFL to prove how proficient you are with the English language. 
  • You must have additional documents such as the offer letter from the university, Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and a document stating information about the course you wish to pursue.

The scholarship funds your entire postgraduate program if you are pursuing it at a state university or a university recognised by the state in Germany. The duration of the scholarship depends on the duration of the course you wish to pursue. The duration of a postgraduate program in Germany is usually 10 to 24 months. However, if your program lasts for 24 months, the scholarship is granted for the second year, based on your academic performance in the first year. 

If granted, the DAAD scholarship covers the following expenses:

  • You will be awarded £861 every month. 
  • Your health, liability, and personal insurances are covered by the scholarship. 
  • Your travel allowances are covered by the scholarship. 
  • Your study allowance, that is your tuition fees and cost of books, etc., is covered by the scholarship. 

In certain scenarios, some candidates might receive additional funding such as a monthly allowance for a family member who is living with them and a monthly rent allowance.

Belgium Government Scholarships 

The Belgium government offers scholarships to international students who wish to pursue a graduate program in Belgium. The scholarship is offered to over 220 international students and all costs and expenses are funded. It is offered for graduate programs in all subject areas. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is as follows: 

  • You must be a citizen residing in a developing country.
  • You must be below 40 years of age if you are pursuing a graduate program.
  • You must have a strong command of the English language.
  • You must have an excellent academic record.

The scholarship covers the following costs and expenses: 

  • Provides a monthly allowance of £1150 to cover living expenses.
  • Covers travel allowance. 
  • Covers international travel costs.
  • Provides an arrival allowance of £700.
  • Covers the entire tuition fees.

Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Program 

The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Program is a national initiative funded by the various Irish Departments of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. The objective of the program is to provide scholarships and funding across all disciplines. In addition, the program also aims to award those who have done excellent research work during their graduate program. The eligibility criteria for this program is as follows: 

  • You must have completed your undergraduate degree. 
  • You must have an excellent academic record. 
  • You must take a special quiz set by the Irish government and score well on it too.
  • You should be fluent in either Irish or English.

The scholarship offers to cover the following expenses: 

  • Provides a yearly expense of £18,500.
  • Covers up to £5,500+ of your tuition fees.
  • If you are researching a specific discipline, then you are offered a research allowance of £3,250 per year.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 

The Erasmus Mundus is a scholarship program established by the European Union to provide fair and equal educational opportunities to all. As part of the scholarship program, you will be provided with the opportunity to study in three European universities in three different European countries. This scholarship is open to all nationalities. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is as follows: 

  • You must have completed an undergraduate degree. 
  • You must have a GPA of 3.5 or above.  
  • You must have a good IELTS or TOEFL score, preferably a 7.5 and above in IELTS.
  • You must be 16 years or above.

The scholarship covers the following costs:

  • Provides a monthly allowance of £1,100 to 1,200.
  • Travel allowance. 
  • Tuition fee.
  • International travel allowance. 

In addition, the Erasmus Mundus scholarship offers you a job visa once you complete your postgraduate degree.
