The GMAT consists of four sections — verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, integrated reasoning and analytical writing assessment. The scores for each of these sections are as follows:

Most universities list the following documents as a necessary admission requirement. Some of these supporting documents include: 

  • Transcripts

The transcripts and marksheets with your college or university logo is a mandatory requirement by almost all universities. Top/reputed universities list good academic performance and scores as a way to evaluate your knowledge and skills . Hence, your academic performance holds a lot of importance in determining your chances of getting into a good university. 

  • Statement of Purpose

A statement of purpose (SOP) is a requirement by most universities. It is a motivation letter written by you to the university describing your inclination towards studying there. In addition, you also explain how and why you are the right fit for the program you are applying to. 

  • Letter of Recommendations 

Letter of Recommendation (LORs) are also required for admission into the top universities all over the world. It is usually written by your university professor or a trusted  senior at work. It serves as a reference letter wherein your professor or senior commends you for your work, skills and professional qualities you might possess. The LORs hold a lot of more value when written by those who hold special designations. This includes those who hold executive titles such as head of department or senior professors at universities and executive managers within a professional set up.

  • Resume

Your resume should consist of all your academic qualities, work experiences, internships, professional skills that you might possess and your professional or educational achievements. An important thing to note is that your resume should not be too lengthy, it should contain all the recent and relevant information.  

  • Work Experience 

Work experience is not a necessary requirement by all universities. However, it varies depending on the universities you plan on applying to. It is very important to have a look at the work experience requirements set by the universities of your choice. Having gained work experience in a specific field shows inclination, dedication and always looks impressive on your resume. Hence, it might even increase your chances of getting into your dream university.
